Enjoying flower paintings in gouache

Sunflowers bouquet From the Barclay Viewforth drop-in (10-1 on a Tuesday) we are enjoying this sort of painting by numbers botanical style painting. We sometimes draw round a leaf and fill it in. Anyone welcome. We enjoy our chats around the table and there is free coffee and tea... Bruntsfield Crescent, Edinburgh. Bring your own materials (we can lend to get you started).

Ceramics examples - small bowls

The sort of ceramics I have been experimenting with. I love the wheel and finding clay with a mind of its own (how human). I love to carve. This was a throw and carve, paint and glaze all in one firing at cone 6. It features a tree and the Edinburgh Forth Bridge. A small finger bowl that is useful to put things in. The next one was bisqued and fired without glaze, in order to preserve the carving. This one is called Keep my tears. Both are gifts. Every pot I make is unique.

End of year Art Show in Leith 20-23rd June

Thursday 20th June 7-9 pm I can welcome you to my two shows with Leith School of Art in Leith, Edinburgh (there may not be sunshine). Also Friday, Saturday, Sunday 10-4 See below. I have spend the year studying two courses at the Leith School of Art in Edinburgh. I have met some wonderful colleagues and been trained by diligent teachers who have encouraged and cajoled my art into something like a more developed practice. Figure - lots of drawing, with work on planes, colour, pose and the form of muscle and bone; experiments with paint, chalk, good old charcoal, ink and a stick, collage and Lino cut. Ending with a piece that’s large and colourful. In contemporary Art Practice (my, what a challenge) something completely different. My powers of illustration are being set free by being able to swim with different media - working with plaster plastic, cutting and moulding.
